Social Skills Groups
Social skills groups help children learn conversational skills, build friendships, learn joint attention, and problem solving skills. They can teach children to control their emotions and recognize the perspectives of others. Social skills groups are also a great form of intervention that allow children to learn, practice, and generalize, and maintain social skills. The development of these skills assists children handle challenges that may arise during social interactions while having fun and positive social experiences with their peers. These skills are learned and strengthened through engagement in cooperative activities, turn-taking games, social stories.

DIR Floortime
Created by Dr. Stanley Greenspan, DIR Floortime (D- Developmental I- Individual Differences R- Relationship Based) is a therapy model primarily practiced with children who have exceptionalities such as autism. This intervention promotes individual development through purposeful and playful engagement. The approach looks at development from a bottom/up and inside/out perspective. This means really meeting children where they are in their development and understanding each individual to help them reach their full potential. This approach can be carried out by caregivers, strengthening the effectiveness of therapy.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy addresses communication differences and supports children with class participation, access to the curriculum, and engagement with peers.
Speech can also support children to express their wants and needs and demonstrate with play skills. It is beneficial for children who have challenges being understood by familiar and unfamiliar listeners. Research shows early intervention can improve communication outcomes in children. Strong communication skills are also linked to academic achievement and success.

Mindfulness/Yoga
Mindfulness: Mindfulness requires taking notice of oneself in the moment and nothing else. Mindfulness practice allows for children to slow down, take their time, and focus on things in a more relaxed and stress free manner.
Yoga: Yoga is a physical practice that promotes balance, strength, and endurance. In addition to increased physical development, yoga is beneficial for helping children be more aware of their emotions and encourages self-regulation.
